About Meagan McCarthy, MD

Meagan McCarthy, MD comes to Reno Orthopedic Center by way of Denver/Boulder, CO where she completed her Orthopedic Surgery Sports Fellowship at the University of Colorado. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency training at UC San Diego after earning her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.

Board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. McCarthy specializes in knee and shoulder sports injuries/disorders as well as cartilage preservation.

First appointment with Dr. McCarthy for severe shoulder pain- she has a great "bedside manner", pleasant and kind, explained what she saw on the xrays, the good news & the bad, what we would do moving forward, and gave me a cortisone injection at this visit- I was glad to not have to make another appointment! She was efficient without feeling rushed. She was highly recommended & for good reason 🙂 Her medical assistant was very sweet too.
