Dr. Swanson completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch.  He completed his orthopaedic surgical residency University of Arizona in Phoenix, AZ followed by an orthopaedic trauma fellowship through Reno Orthopedic Clinic in 2017.  Following fellowship, he worked with Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons in Scottsdale, AZ for 2 years before returning to work with Reno Orthopedic Clinic in 2019.

Dr. Swanson is Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.  His practice centers around orthopaedic trauma and fracture care of both adult and pediatric patients.  This includes pelvic and acetabular surgery, nonunion and malunion surgeries, and bone and joint infections.  Since finishing fellowship, he has enjoyed teaching and working with residents and trauma fellows both in Scottsdale and now back in Reno.
