About Meagan McCarthy, MD

Meagan McCarthy, MD comes to Reno Orthopedic Center by way of Denver/Boulder, CO where she completed her Orthopedic Surgery Sports Fellowship at the University of Colorado. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency training at UC San Diego after earning her medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.

Board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. McCarthy specializes in knee and shoulder sports injuries/disorders as well as cartilage preservation.

Dr. Meagan McCarthy put me at ease and she has an excellent bedside manner. She was caring, friendly, and very knowledgeable. She took my concerns into consideration and explained everything to me step by step on how she would continue with my care. I’m a veteran and she showed me a great deal of compassion regarding my injuries from my time in service. Dr. McCarthy helped to make my situation/appointment very easy!

She took the time to carefully evaluate my injury, and took a lot of time answering my questions and advising me after we received the MRI images. Not only is she at the top of her field, she is a really nice person too. Appointments are efficient, but I always felt I received personalized attention. Highly recommend.
